Chef Thomas Keller was in Boston doing a signing of his Ad Hoc at Home cookbook. We couldn't miss this opportunity to go and meet the legendary chef ourselves, so we got to the William Sonoma an hour before the signing to get in line with fellow foodies. While waiting in the middle of the mall, random mall guests would walk up asking what the line was for. We ended up waiting a little under 2 hours, but was able to get him to sign not only the book, but also our menu from Bouchon and napkin from Per Se. Also, we grabbed a photo with him.

Some dinners we've made in the past few weeks.
Abby made baked ziti (really penne). Turned out really fantastic.

We joined efforts to make home made spaghetti and meatballs. Meatballs needed a little more seasoning, but otherwise a pretty decent meal.

To help with not wasting herbs anymore, we started our own little herb garden (thanks to Abby's parents we got Chia Herb Garden for X-mas).

Finally, we recently tried Ad Hoc Fried Chicken (a wedding gift from our buddy Nabeel). It turned out with the best crispy skin I've ever made on fried chicken, but it could have used a little bit more spice. Next time I'll add chili powder to the batter mix.

Some people say dropping $1500 on dinner is a waste, and that it should go to charity, etc, etc...you know what? If I had that type of money, I'd totally would drop it on something like this. (It's my money, I can do whatever I want with it hippies!!!!) But seriously, people drop this type of cash on sporting events, artwork, and even hookers...and I can guarantee a 20 course meal will last longer than that experience. So yes, it's outrageous, it's crazy to drop that type of dough on food when people are starving and food banks need donations...but it's an experience I wouldn't pass up if I could be a part of it. Gotta enjoy life if you can before it passes you by.
